This customer came to us looking to have a few items installed in 2016 Subaru WRX. He had purchased a Kenwood DDX9703S, a Kicker Hideaway, a Kenwood KAC-M300.4, a SiriusXM SXV300v1, and a Maestro RR.
His goal was to retain as many of the factory functions as possible, like the OEM Backup Camera and USB in the center console, as well as add in the sound quality that was lacking from the factory audio system! We began by disassembling the factory radio so that we could start running our wiring throughout the vehicle for our amplifiers.
After removing the radio, we moved on to installing the Kicker Hideaway underneath the passenger seat to add in those low frequencies that every audio system needs. This woofer adds just enough bass that you know it is there while also leaving all of your usable storage space available.
Then we moved on to removing the driver seat to make a home for the Kenwood KAC-M300.4. The KAC-M300.4 is a very small four-channel amplifier that also has the all the benefits of being marine certified like high efficiency and water resistance.
Finally, we integrated the Maestro RR which retains his factory steering wheel mounted controls and gives him the ability to view customizable gauges right on the face of his new Kenwood DDX9703S from the Can-Bus network in his WRX.
