This customer had a 2006 Ford F-150 that was in need of an upgrade both cosmetically and functionally.
The client was seeking the best way to update the vehicle and integrate their smartphone into their everyday driving experience. The easiest way to do this in my book is to add Apple Carplay or Android Auto into the vehicle which always doubles as a dash facelift, with the shiny new touchscreen! The original radio left quite a bit to be desired in the looks department even though it was quite full featured for a radio from 2006.
We decided the DDIN that fit the bill is the Pioneer SPH-DA120 AppRadio4, with its no-nonsense interface and beautiful capacitive touchscreen.
After removing the factory Ford radio, we continued to wire the radio harness, mount the Bluetooth Microphone, run the USB connection from the back of the radio, and finally mount the new Head Unit in the dash.
