This customer contacted us after purchasing a new radio and speakers for his 2006 Toyota Tundra. He originally had the JBL audio system and decided to bypass the JBL amplifier to let the new Kenwood radio power his new Kenwood speaker directly.
We started this installation by removing the factory radio and running the new wiring all the way back to the factory JBL amplifier. Once we had performed the amplifier bypass it was a pretty simple task to solder the new radio harness and get the system mounted.
After the radio, we dove into the door speaker installation by removing the plastic door panels. We removed the factory speakers and proceeded to mount the new speakers in their plastic adapter plates with some foam gasket tape to ensure the speakers make a good seal.
Finally, we could remove the rear door panels and speakers, prepare the upgraded gear, and get everything reassembled!
