This install brought us to this 1987 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia. They had purchased a new JVC Radio and some replacement speakers to make this camper have the sound it deserves!
This van had some older aftermarket gear that was well overdue for an update! After we removed the old radio from the dash we soldered the new harness and mounted the new JVC securely into the dash!
The speakers were a pretty simple affair since there are no panels covering the mounting screws! The new JBL GT7's sounded much better than what the van had before, but with only some four-inch coaxials this van was lacking a bit in bass response. I recommend adding a subwoofer to these campers t really round out the sound and bring that punch that this van was missing! A Kicker Hideaway would be a great low-cost solution!
