From Factory to High-Tech: Replacing the Radio and Installing a Backup Camera in a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C250
At Twelve Volt Technologies, we pride ourselves on providing top-notch mobile on-site automotive installations in the greater San Diego area. One of our recent projects was replacing the radio in a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C250 with a Pioneer DMH-1770NEX and adding a Pioneer ND-BC8 backup camera.
Radio Installation
First things first, we had to remove the factory radio from the vehicle. This can be a tricky process in some vehicles, but with our experience and expertise, we were able to do so without any issues. Once the old radio was removed, we were ready to install the new Pioneer DMH-1770NEX.
The Pioneer DMH-1770NEX is an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their car's audio system. This double-DIN receiver features a 7-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, built-in Bluetooth, and a host of other great features. We knew our customer would be thrilled with the upgrade!
Backup Camera
After installing the new radio, we turned our attention to the backup camera. We knew that the 2013 Mercedes-Benz C250 had a optional factory backup camera, which was mounted on the trunk lid lip. So, we decided to install the new Pioneer ND-BC8 backup camera in the same location.
Mounting the camera on the trunk lid lip provides an optimal view of what's behind the vehicle when backing up. It also is a great option for those who value the aesthetics of their vehicle.
Installing the backup camera involved running wiring from the camera outside the vehicle, all the way through the car, to the new radio. We took great care to ensure that all wiring was neatly tucked away and hidden from view. We also made sure to use high-quality wiring, zip ties, and connectors to ensure a reliable and long-lasting installation.
We were very pleased with how the backup camera turned out. By installing it on the trunk lid lip where the factory backup camera would have gone, we were able to provide our customer with a seamless and high-quality upgrade to their vehicle.
Overall, this project was a great success! The new radio and backup camera looked and sounded fantastic, we were able to retain their original factory USB port in the center console and our customer was thrilled with the upgrade.
