This customer contacted us about his new 2018 Toyota Tacoma; he was looking to upgrade the sound and install a power lock for the tailgate to better protect items stored in the bed! We decided the Pop & Lock PL8535 Power Tailgate Lock would be the perfect solution for the bed!
After we got the tailgate lock installed, we moved on the sound upgrades! We decided on the Kenwood Excelon XR-1800P 7" component set for the front doors and Kenwood Excelon KFC-X174 for the rear doors! These speakers can really move so we decided to pair them with a bit of CLD sound deadening and some FAST rings to give them their best chance!
After getting the factory speakers out of the front doors, we could begin work on installing the tweeters on the dash! This was accomplished with a plastic bracket, but it left the tweeter to far from the dash grill. We decided to space the tweeter up towards the grill to help the tweeter correctly disperse across the soundstage!
The last step in this project was to get the factory speakers out of the rear doors apply some CLD, install the Kenwood KFC-X174's, and the FAST Rings. These new speakers are a substantial upgrade over the measly stock speakers as you can see in the side by side photo!
