This 2017 Hyundai Accent adds a basic backup camera system!
This 2017 Hyundai Accent didn't come with a factory-installed backup camera, and that was a big concern for this parent as she prepared this car for her 16-year-old new driver.
Since the main goal was to increase driver safety while reversing, we concluded that a stand-alone monitor system was our best option. We decided that a simple license plate mount camera would give us the most flexibility while remaining easily reversible.
For the monitor system, we went with a rearview mirror replacement option. This mirror has a 4.3-inch screen behind the glass, so when you are not reversing, it looks like an ordinary mirror. When you put the vehicle in reverse, the monitor turns on and you get even more visibility in the place your eyes naturally want to look!
