Added some new functionality and better sound to this 2009 Jeep Wrangler!
This customer wanted to add some new functionality and better sound to his 2009 Jeep Wrangler! We got him set up with some new component speakers from Rockford Fosgate, a touchscreen Apple Carplay Compatible radio from Pioneer, and a spare tire mount back up camera!
This installation was completed in a back to front fashion, by starting with the reverse camera on the spare tire. This configuration gives you a great view of the surroundings to the back of the vehicle, and (since it is mounted so high up) gives you a fantastic sense of those objects distance from the vehicle.
Once the camera was securely mounted, and the cabling was run forward, we started work on the rear soundbar speakers. The new speakers were the Rockford Fosgate R165, they fit right in the factory speaker locations and they clear the original grills for a clean and factory appearance!
We then moved on to installing the front component speakers, some Rockford Fosgate R165S. The 6 1/2 midbass driver mounts in the dash speaker pods and the new tweeters fit in the tweeter pods on the top of the dash. Overall these new speakers make a huge difference in the acoustics of the Jeep even when the soft top is down!
To finish the whole package off we got the old factory radio out of the dash and got the new Pioneer AVH-1440NEX into its place. This radio not only sounds way better, but it also gives you Bluetooth and USB connectivity, along with Apple Carplay connectivity so you have a ton of control over your favorite apps right from the dashboard!
